IAC Acoustics Australia Acquires Blockade Barriers Pty. Ltd.
IAC Acoustics Australia is pleased to announce the acquisition of Blockade Barriers Pty. Ltd., which was completed on 1 July 2026.
Based in Braeside, Victoria, Blockade Barriers is a specialist manufacturer and installer of bespoke Durasub steel doors, providing high-performance solutions for fire, acoustic, blast and ballistic applications.
The acquisition further strengthens IAC Acoustics Australia’s specialist capabilities and expands the range of engineered door solutions available to customers across Australia.
Specialist door solutions
Blockade Barriers has extensive experience in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke steel doors for demanding applications. Its products have been tested and certified to applicable Australian and international standards, including:
– Fire: AS 1905.1:2015 / AS 1530.4:2014
– Acoustic: AS 1191:2002
– Blast: ISO 16933 / ASTM F2927
– Ballistic: Applicable standard to be confirmed
Blockade’s fire-rated doors have been tested to provide up to 4 hours of fire resistance in accordance with Australian standards.
A particular area of specialist capability is the provision of high-performance fire doors at dimensions significantly exceeding those typically achievable with conventional timber doors. Tested structural openings of up to 5,000 mm high × 6,800 mm wide demonstrate the capability to provide fire-
rated access solutions for large-scale and technically demanding applications.
Strengthening our capabilities in Australia
The Braeside facility provides manufacturing, sales and installation capabilities, with the Blockade Barriers team now supporting the full Blockade Barriers product range, as well as IAC Acoustics Australia’s products and projects.
The integration of the two businesses brings together complementary technical expertise, manufacturing capability and project experience, providing customers with access to a broader range of specialist solutions and support.
